I take great pride in being a native of Boone, Iowa, having grown up in the heart of the Midwest. My personal journey began when my mother relocated us to Indianola, where I have spent the majority of my life, building cherished memories along the way. With a commitment to public service that spans over 40 years, I have been fortunate to actively contribute to emergency response efforts through Indianola Fire/EMS and Warren County Emergency Management.

Those closest to me often describe me as a supportive leader, dedicated to both my community and church. This commitment propelled me to graduate from Indianola High School, complete Iowa State Fire Science Courses, and engage in various emergency management trainings. Above all, I prioritize the safety and well-being of the public—an achievement that fills me with immense satisfaction and pride.

The values that I hold dear are both simple and profound: to serve God, be a loving husband, grandfather, and friend. These guiding principles shape my daily actions and choices, enabling me to remain true to myself and those around me.

As an emergency responder, I yearn for a deeper understanding from people regarding the level of dedication and sacrifice required to safeguard our communities. Over the years, I have missed countless birthdays, holidays, family events, and even my children's sporting activities—all in the name of public safety. Nevertheless, despite these sacrifices, I remain unwavering in my commitment to serving others and ensuring their well-being.

Outside of my professional and volunteer work, I deeply cherish every moment spent with my family, particularly my Six beautiful grandchildren. Their laughter and joy illuminate my life, serving as a reminder of what truly matters.

If given the opportunity to impart wisdom to future generations, I would share this message: always prioritize your relationship with God, follow your heart, and believe in yourself. Regardless of your background or origins, you have the capacity to accomplish anything you set your mind to.

In today's fast-paced world, it is easy to lose sight of what truly matters. However, my personal journey has taught me that staying true to your values and prioritizing the needs of others can lead to a meaningful and fulfilling existence. Whether it is through my work in emergency response or simply being there for my family, I strive to make a positive impact on those around me.

As I continue to serve my community and nurture the relationships that hold the greatest significance, I am reminded of the immense power we all possess within ourselves. Each day presents an opportunity to effect lasting change, uplift others, and ultimately leave this world in a better state than when we encountered it.

In conclusion, I hope my story serves as a reminder that with dedication, perseverance, and a heart filled with love, anything is possible. May these words inspire you and accompany you on your unique journey through life.
